Saturday 2nd March saw a celebration party at the clubhouse for Maungaraki Tennis Club’s 40th anniversary. The occassion also marked the presenetaton of Life Membership to founding president Warwick Wyatt.
Players old and new alike enjoyed a BBQ dinner and some informal tennis, before swapping stories and reminisccing about the past 40 years.
New members are always welcome at Maungaraki Tennis Club, and for those new to tennis (or just rusty!) we have some open days for people to come along and have a go.
We had a lovely day for Wednesday 7th November and some keen new juniors signed up!
We hope to have another one in January or February. You are always welcome to contact us and ask to have a go at any time.

It is with great regret that we announce the passing of Trevor Daly on 25th July. He was a great asset to the club and will be sorely missed.
Grasshopper player Raegan Welch was one of our award winners - she won the Under 10 Girls Singles Plate final. Reagan was all set up to come along to the Prize Giving evening, when she came down with appendicitus, and had to go into hospital, so she was awarded her trophy in a hospital bed instead!

In an amazing coincidence, her father Dave had been in with the same complaint just the week before!
The Club's Movie Night at the Light House Cinema on 1st May was "Salmon Fishing in the Yemen" with Emily Blunt, Ewan McGregor, Kristin Scott Thomas.
The film was a good one, plenty of laughs and great acting. The spread of food (bagels, pizza and sushi and cakes) was very tasty. The company was great and the evening was enjoyed by all.
Thanks to everyone who helped and attended.
The Junior Club Champs Finals are on 25th March 2012. The senior champs may be pushed back a little - we will advise.
