Our Senior club champs were concluded on Sunday 18th April, with a finals day played in perfect weather conditions.

Mixed Doubles - Blair Stanfield & Jeanette Stanley.

Our Senior interclub teams had good success in most grades, in particular: Mens Regional 1 finishing 2nd, Mens Div 1 finishing 3rd, Mens Div 2 finishing 2nd.

For St Patrick's Day the thriving Twilight section of our club hold a fun Yankee tournament where green fancy dress is popular! Seeing some of the costumes and silly hats bobbing aorund on the court is sure to bring a smile!

The Maungaraki Tennis Club Grasshopper mini-tournament on 28th March was a great success. The weather was kind, and 30 children from the Maungaraki, Korokoro, Normandale and other locations in the Hutt Valley had a fantastic afternoon!

The tournament was aimed at 5-10 year olds who had not played much or any tennis, and all available places were quickly filled. There were 7 games each on special mini-courts, with winners in each age group being those with the most points overall. After the tournament, all the children enjoyed a sausage sizzle.

National Tennis Open Day was on Sunday 14th February.

Maungaraki Tennis Club is organising a Grasshoppers Tennis Open Day on Sunday 22nd November from 2pm – 4pm for primary school children aged 5–10 for its popular Grasshoppers programme at the clubrooms. (This is a postponement from the severely windy 15th!)

There will be fun on-court activities where you can try out tennis and the opportunity to win some cool prizes. There will also be the opportunity to enrol for the Grasshopper coaching programme.

Here are some start dates for 2009

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Twilight Doubles league will start 28th, 29th, 30th, September at 6pm.

Midweek Club will start Tuesday 15th Sept at 9.30am.

Thursday competive singles league will start 24th September 6.00pm

NEW! Sunday club day will start 20th September 2pm - 4.30.

The 2009-2010 Season Registration and Open Day will be held on Saturday 12th September, from 9am - 1pm.
